1SafeRE exists to answer one question: if something happens to me, who will know? That only means something if the answer is reliable. Here's how it actually works under the hood — in plain language, not marketing copy.

Your safety net doesn't depend on your phone staying alive

✅ The timer runs on our servers, not your phone

Once you check in, the countdown is tracked by our servers — not an app running in your pocket. If your phone dies, loses signal, or the app crashes, the timer keeps running and your Trusted Contacts still get alerted if you don't check out in time.

✅ Failed alerts retry automatically

If an emergency alert can't be delivered on the first try — a transient email delivery issue, for example — the system automatically retries several times over the following minutes. If it still can't get through after every retry, it's escalated for a human to follow up on directly, rather than silently giving up.

✅ No duplicate or false alarms by design

Alert delivery uses a claim-based system that guarantees each real emergency is processed exactly once — your contacts won't get the same panic email twice from a background timing overlap.

Your data is protected by rules the server enforces, not just promises

🔒 Only you can read your own data

Your check-ins, Trusted Contacts, and location history are locked to your account at the database level. No other user — and no client-side code — can read or write another person's data, enforced by server-side rules, not just app logic that could be bypassed.

🔒 Billing status can't be self-granted

Your subscription plan is a field only our payment-processing server can set, verified directly against a real completed payment. There's no path — accidental or otherwise — for an account to upgrade itself without paying.

🔒 Payments never touch our servers

Card details are handled entirely by Stripe, a payment processor used by millions of businesses. We never see, store, or transmit your card number ourselves.

What we never do

🚫 We don't sell your data

Your information is never sold to advertisers or data brokers. It exists to run the service you signed up for — nothing else.

🚫 We don't track you continuously

Location is only ever shared with the Trusted Contacts you personally chose, and only during an active check-in or a real alert. There's no standing, always-on tracking — the app doesn't know or care where you are when you're not checked in.

You're always in control

🗑️ Delete your account, any time

Account deletion is available directly in the app — no support ticket, no waiting. It permanently removes your account, Trusted Contacts, and check-in history.
